Hope. We wanted it to be more than a simple slogan. In the process of creating a statement to describe our understanding of what we do and who we are, we also wanted a constant reminder of where we believe God is leading us.
OUR MISSION: We will grow disciples of Jesus Christ who love God and others. We will share our faith, reach out to our neighbors, and walk in His steps to represent Him in the world.

Ridglea United Methodist Church was officially organized on June 13, 1943. The original church building still stands and is currently being used by the Boy Scouts of America as their scout hut. It is located on the corner of Winthrop Avenue and Locke Street across from the main church building. In March of 1947, a newer more spacious sanctuary was constructed and remains on the northeast corner of Winthrop and Locke, now used as the Fellowship Hall. The current sanctuary seats approximately 275 people and was first used in May of 1965.
Today, Ridglea UMC remains a thriving church of approximately 480 members. Offering a contemporary service at 9:00 in the Fellowship Hall and a traditional service at 11:00 in the sanctuary, Ridglea UMC averages 155 worshipers on Sunday morning. The church’s outreach to the community includes Habitat for Humanity, West-Aid, Kairos Prison ministry, and we are the adopt-a-school partner for Monnig Middle School in the Ridglea North neighborhood.
Ridglea UMC is a multi-generational congregation offering a vibrant children’s ministry, active youth ministry, a Tuesday & Thursday Early Childhood Learning Center, and other ministries to adults and families. We hope that you might join us and experience the power and potential that God's grace has to offer you and your family.
